Avery Semjen, Associate Specialist, Head of New Now, New York, said, “On the heels of our marquee sales in London, it was wonderful to see such a strong depth of international bidding in our New York New Now sale, with nearly 50 countries participating on the phone, online, and in the saleroom. Bids placed from all corners of the globe led to a particularly impressive showing for works by post-war and contemporary masters, including Andy Warhol, Shara Hughes, Richard Mayhew, and Ghada Amer. Leading the sale was Wade Guyton’s Untitled, 2007, which soared to $241,300 against an estimate of $70,000, and we were proud of the results achieved for auction newcomer Maja Ruznic. In today’s sale, her Visitors achieved more than twice its low estimate at $57,150.”
