Cary Leibowitz and Kelly Troester, Worldwide Co-Heads of Editions and Deputy Chairpersons, Americas, said, “It has been a delight to present a diverse range of works in our June Editions & Works on Paper sale, bringing together both blue chip and emerging artists. We were particularly thrilled by the outstanding performance of works by women artists working in abstraction. Notable highlights include the records achieved for Louise Nevelson, Anni Albers, and strong results for Lee Krasner and Joan Mitchell’s Tree 1, which saw spirited bidding and soared to over ten times the presale low estimate. The sale included 34 fresh-to-market works and achieved 19 world record prices, with enthusiastic bidding setting records for Man Ray, Max Ernst, and Georges Braque. Over 1,400 lots were offered this spring season, resulting in an impressive 94% sold by value and 90% sold by lot across our New York and London sales, and totaling over $18.2 million, underscoring the strength of our global Editions team. We are also excited about our first foray into Editions in Hong Kong, which was met with resounding enthusiasm, and look forward to an equally dynamic fall season.”
