Art Deco pieces commanded the sale, with René Boivin’s magnificent art deco sapphire and diamond brooch 'starfish,’ created in 1938, leading the auction at $571,500. Art deco jewels by Boucheron and Suzanne Belperron also performed well, with Suzanne Belperron’s silver collar necklace from the collection of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Simcox Swensson soaring to $69,850 against its estimate of $12,000. The Swensson collection saw strong prices throughout, a testament to the couple’s exceptional taste and discerning eye, bringing in $1.15 million.”
