Danielle So, Head of Day Sale, 20th Century & Contemporary Art, Phillips Hong Kong, said: We are pleased to see such solid results conclude our inaugural 20th Century & Contemporary Art Sales in Hong Kong, marking a 33% increase on our 2022 Spring sales. In our brand new Asia headquarters in Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Cultural District, we saw spirited bidding with international participation leading to new auction records for ten artists in today’s Day Sale. We were pleased to see sought-after works by both Asian and Western established names such as Yayoi Kusama, Gerhard Richter, and Park Seo-Bo as well as rising stars including Ayako Rokkaku, Jia Aili, and Michaela Yearwood-Dan in the top ten. We look forward to our upcoming exhibition highlighting works by Yayoi Kusama and Chiharu Shiota at our spectacular new headquarters next month, and our next auctions scheduled to take place here in May.”
