GENEVA – 10 NOVEMBER 2025 – Phillips concluded The Geneva Jewels Auction: V on 10 November at its saleroom at the Hôtel Président in Geneva. The sale was led by ‘The Vanderbilt Sapphire’, a Belle Epoque masterpiece from the Gilded Age. The Vanderbilt Family Jewels collection was 100% sold, soaring to CHF 3,425,411 / US$4,252,990, four times its low estimate. Signed jewels achieved standout results, with 90% of lots sold and the majority far exceeding their pre-sale high estimates.
Benoît Repellin, Phillips’ Worldwide Head of Jewellery, said: “The results of today’s sale attest to the enduring appeal of period jewels and the discerning eye of our international clients. To bring the jewels of the Vanderbilt Family to the world’s stage was a moment of profound privilege. These treasures stand as the purest embodiment of Gilded Age elegance and the response we have witnessed is a testament to the timeless power of exceptional jewels. Alongside the Tiffany & Co. sapphire and diamond brooch, and the Cartier Magnificent diamond brooch, further notable prices were achieved for iconic designs from leading maisons, including Cartier 'Panthère' jewels and the Bulgari ‘Serpenti’ belt, all exceeding their high estimates. Looking ahead, our Geneva Jewels Online Auction will continue until 13 November, and we look forward to our next live sale in New York, taking place on 8 December.”
The event drew over 1,600 visitors during the preview and sale, reflecting significant interest from collectors and enthusiasts. Bidders from 44 countries participated in person, over the phone and online.
