Rebecca Tooby-Desmond, Specialist, Head of Sale, and Auctioneer, said, “We are thrilled to announce the results of our Evening and Day Editions sales, which achieved £2.6 million and sell-through rates of 98% by value and 94% by lot. These figures reaffirm the strength of our curated offerings and Phillips’ leadership in the Editions market. The enthusiasm for Phillips’ first live auction of the year saw spirited bidding from a packed saleroom, alongside phone and online participation from collectors over 50 countries, reflecting the truly global appeal of this category. Highlights included Jonas Wood’s Four Majors, which soared to more than three times its estimate, and Andy Warhol’s iconic Chicken 'N Dumplings from Campbell's Soup II, which realised over four times its pre-sale estimate. Other standout results were achieved for works by Jasper Johns, Banksy, and Mel Bochner. Text-based works performed particularly well, with Ed Ruscha’s History Kids and Harland Miller’s This is Where It's Fuckin At drawing significant interest from collectors. These results underscore the continued passion for Editions and the enduring appeal of the medium among collectors worldwide. We look forward to building on this momentum with our upcoming live Editions & Works on Paper auction in New York on 12 February."
