Dianne Batista, Head of Jewels, New York, Senior Vice President, and Senior Specialist, and Cristina Rodrigo, Specialist and Head of Sale, jointly said, “Today’s New York Jewels sale delivered strong results, with top lots achieving multiples of their estimates across every category. Important private collections achieved a combined total of $2.8 million, led by an impressive Very Light Pink Diamond Ring that soared well beyond expectations, more than tripling its low estimate and achieving $915,900. Colored gemstones performed exceptionally well, with two pairs of emerald earrings ranking among the top ten lots. Signed jewels were among the most sought-after pieces, including a ruby and diamond necklace from Van Cleef & Arpels, which sold for nearly four times its low estimate. Other standouts included the Boucheron antique diamond brooch from 1908, the striking Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co. ‘Fleur de Mer’ sapphire and diamond brooch, and a diamond ring by Cartier, all of which surpassed their estimates. Private collections also performed exceptionally well, reinforcing the strong demand for fresh-to-market jewels. These results underscore the strength and resilience of the jewels market, driven by collectors’ passion for rarity, design, and craftsmanship. As the holiday season approaches, Phillips remains committed to presenting jewels of exceptional quality that captivate collectors worldwide. For those seeking a meaningful gift, our New York Jewels: Online Auction features a thoughtfully curated selection of remarkable pieces — many offered without reserve — providing another opportunity to acquire something truly extraordinary this season.”
