Phillips Appoints Rika Dila as Senior Consultant in Thailand
Appointment Continues Company’s Significant Expansion into the Asian Market
HONG KONG – 9 JANUARY 2020 – Phillips is pleased to announce the appointment of Rika Dila as Senior Consultant, based in Bangkok. Ms. Dila will work closely with Phillips’ Watches, Jewellery and the 20th Century& Contemporary Art teams in Asia, to grow the company’s network of clients in Thailand, an increasingly important market in the region.
Ms. Dila’s appointment is part of the company’s significant South East Asian expansion strategy. In 2018, Phillips named Christine Fernando as the Associate Regional Representative in Singapore, and Vivi Yip joined the auction house as a Senior Consultant in Jakarta last year. Adding to the company’s expansion in the region, Sandy Ma started her new role last year as International Specialist, 20th Century & Contemporary Art, with responsibility for growing the South East Asian market. In 2019, Phillips participated two major art fairs in Jakarta and the watch department has expanded its Asian auction tours to Bangkok.
Ms. Dila has significant experience in business development, watches & jewellery, and relationship management in Thailand. She was a golf champion, local representative for Sotheby’s, and a restaurateur opening several establishments in the country over the years. Ms. Dila is well connected to the vintage watches society in Bangkok, and also active in collecting art, especially works by the late Thai artist Thawan Duchanee. She started her career in Bulgari, where she was a Country Manager for the leading international luxury brand in Thailand.
