LONDON – 13 JANUARY 2026 – Phillips is proud to kick off the New Year with the January Editions sales in London, led by a vivid example of David Hockney’s Arrival of Spring in Woldgate, East Yorkshire in 2011 (twenty eleven), accompanied by six other of the artist’s iconic iPad drawings and editions. Both Evening and Day sales offer a distinguished selection of nineteen Pablo Picasso works, including the expressive 1962 linocut Portrait de Jacqueline au chapeau de paille and the enigmatic early etching Le repas frugal, showcasing the breadth of Picasso’s printmaking legacy. This season also features star-studded icons by Andy Warhol, curated Gerhard Richter editions timed with his major retrospective in Paris, and a rare grouping of Louise Bourgeois etchings and drypoints, culminating with Phillips London’s first Contemporary Editions: Online Auction from 20 to 29 January, presenting culturally relevant names such as Christopher Wool, Damien Hirst, and Julian Opie.

Robert Kennan, Head of Editions, Europe, said, “We are delighted to present a season that reflects both the historical depth and contemporary vitality of the Editions market. David Hockney’s Arrival of Spring series continues to capture the imagination of collectors worldwide, and with such a rich assembly of works by Picasso, Warhol, Richter, and others, this January Editions cycle offers something truly remarkable for every collector.
