Tamila Kerimova, Head of 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, said, “Today’s result of £11.2 million saw a 12% increase from the previous year, demonstrating the growth and continuous strength of the middle market. The top ten highlights how contemporary artists are igniting great international attention, with notable prices achieved for Eddie Martinez and Neo Rauch, with world auction records set for Lucas Arruda and Hernan Bas, among others. Continuing the success from last night’s Evening Sale, works from The Robert Tibbles Collection: Young British Artists & More were 100% sold. The high sell-through rates are testament to our global team, who put together carefully sourced, well priced material that truly reflects collecting trends and current tastes.”
