INDIA PHILLIPS APPOINTED MANAGING DIRECTOR, MODERN & CONTEMPORARY ART, EUROPE

 

Appointment Underscores Phillips’ Commitment to Continued Growth in the Region

 

 

 

LONDON – 6 NOVEMBER 2025 – Phillips is delighted to announce that India Phillips will join the company as Managing Director, Modern & Contemporary Art, Europe in February 2026. Based in London and reporting directly to the CEO, Ms. Phillips will play a strategic role in enhancing the company’s presence across the continent, whilst bringing specialist expertise in Modern art.

 

As a key member of the Executive team, Ms. Phillips will work with specialists across all departmental categories in supporting Phillips’ business development efforts by cultivating networks of collectors, art dealers, and enthusiasts. She joins Phillips after a decade at Bonhams, where she most recently served as Managing Director, EMEA.

Ms. Phillips brings over two decades of extensive experience as both a specialist and a senior leader in the international art market, most recently as Managing Director, EMEA, at Bonhams, overseeing activities across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Building on her early experience in the museum sector, Ms. Phillips worked as a Specialist in the Modern Art department at Christie’s before joining Bonhams in 2014 as Head of Modern Art in London, before becoming Global Head of the department, followed by Managing Director, UK in 2022.

 

In addition, Phillips is pleased to announce Marianne Hoet’s promotion to Chairman, Modern and Contemporary Art Europe, Olivia Thornton’s promotion to Deputy Chairwoman, Modern & Contemporary Art, Europe, and Matt Langton to Deputy Chairman, Modern and Contemporary Art, Europe. Together, this highly experienced business-getting team will continue to concentrate on driving client relationships and consignments at the highest level.
