HONG KONG – 23 October 2018 – Phillips in association with Bacs & Russo
is pleased to announce the Hong Kong
Watch Auction: SEVEN, which will be held on 27 November 2018 at the
Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong. Comprising over 250 lots, the tightly curated sale
will offer a meticulous selection of fine, collectable timepieces in excellent
condition, all manufactured by the world’s most renowned watchmakers. Modern
and vintage wristwatches, fine pocket watches and enamel clocks, including a
line-up of fresh-to-the-market examples, will be on offer.
Thomas
Perazzi, Head of Watches, Phillips, Asia, said: “Following the success of our May sale in
Hong Kong, which was warmly-received by the international community of
discerning watch collectors, Phillips is delighted to present the seventh
installment of Hong Kong Watch Auction
this November. As we continue to expand
our presence in the worldwide watch-collecting community, we will embark on
Phillips Asia’s largest global watch auction preview tour – from our debut
preview in Bangkok to Singapore, Shanghai, Taipei, London and Geneva. This
endeavour is a testament to our commitment to offering the best-in-class
quality, service and scholarship.
This season, we are excited
to offer, yet again, a large selection of vintage timepieces at auction in
Asia, whereby over half of the sale are vintage examples. Highlights include a highly attractive Rolex
Reference 6241 ‘John Player Special’ 18K yellow gold chronograph wristwatch,
made circa 1968, from an Italian private collection, and a superlatives-abound Patek
Philippe Reference 3448 white gold perpetual calendar wristwatch, made circa
1971, coming from the family of the original owner who bought such masterpiece
from an official Patek Philippe retailer in Zurich in the early 1970s. We are also delighted to offer limited
editions of contemporary wristwatches – one of the six highly attractive and
rare Richard Mille ‘RM 52-01’ ‘Skull’ wristwatches and an extremely elegant and
rare Patek Philippe Reference 5079-J001 18K yellow gold ‘Cathedral’ minute
repeating wristwatch which has been discontinued. It is a particular privilege to have been
entrusted by the founder of De Bethune with the sale of two timepieces from his
private collection. I, together with the
global team, look forward to welcoming watch collectors and aficionados to our
previews around the world and auction in Hong Kong.”
