“We are pleased to kick off the busy fall auction season with a solid sale in an uncertain climate,” said Rebekah Bowling, Phillips’ Head of the New Now Auction in New York. “Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Nets (TWWP) led the sale, realizing $225,000, more than double its estimate, and Michael Heizer’s Perforated Object 11 achieved $137,500 against its estimate of $50,000-70,000. We sold works by emerging, mid-career and established artists, and we were thrilled to set several auction records by artists such as Michael Heizer, Matt Connors, Margo Wolowiec, and John Knuth. Online bidding was also extremely active, with 25% of our lots selling to online bidders.”
