Phillips Names Dina Amin Head of 20th Century & Contemporary Art Department, Europe

LONDON – 26 JANUARY 2017 – Phillips is pleased to announce the appointment of Dina Amin as Senior Director and Head of the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Department, Europe, adding considerable depth to the company’s work with collectors and consigners in Europe. The addition of Ms. Amin, a well-regarded industry leader, will strengthen Phillips’ team of international specialists and broaden the range of expertise the auction house offers collectors. She will be based in London.

Ms. Amin joins Phillips from Christie’s, where she was most recently a Senior Director and Senior Specialist for Post-War and Contemporary Art. As Head of the Department in London, Ms. Amin will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Phillips’ 20th Century & Contemporary auctions and cultivating networks among collectors, dealers, curators and others in the art world. She will report to Jean-Paul Engelen and Robert Manley, Worldwide Co-Heads of 20th Century & Contemporary Art, both based in New York, and work closely with Cheyenne Westphal, formerly Worldwide Director of Contemporary Art at Sotheby’s, who will join Phillips in March as Chairman, based in London.

“We are extremely pleased that Dina is joining our team,”
said Edward Dolman, Chief Executive Officer. “Dina is a well-established and respected expert internationally and will be a transformative addition to our team. By expanding our specialist teams and building a global platform, we are uniquely positioned to work with collectors in a more comprehensive way across all of our company initiatives. And with her significant experience and passion for engaging with collectors and colleagues, Dina will help us increase our presence across Europe and the Middle East while adding considerable expertise to our London auctions.”

Ms. Amin spent more than 20 years at Christie’s, rising to Senior Director for Post-War and Contemporary Art. During her time at Christie’s, she was the Head of the Evening Auction and Day Sales for Post-War and Contemporary Art, and she spent time as the Business Development Manager for the Middle East, having worked for several years in Dubai.
