Robert Kennan, Head of Editions, Europe: “Realising £4.4 million, this sale marks the highest total for an Editions auction at Phillips. Selling 98% by value and 96% by lot, records were broken for 35% of the Evening Sale lots, setting the pace for the year ahead. The saleroom was the busiest ever, so exciting to welcome such an energised crowd to 30 Berkeley Square. We had bidders from 50 countries bidding online and via the packed phone banks. This outstanding result and strong international participation demonstrates the ever growing demand for Editions across the globe and marks a wonderful start for celebrating the departments 10th anniversary. We look forward to continuing this momentum and feeding the demands of this highly successful market with our Evening & Day Editions sale in New York on 18 April.”
