Ken Yeh Joins Phillips as Senior International Specialist, 20th Century & Contemporary Art

Based in New York, Mr. Yeh to Develop Asian Client Base

NEW YORK – 1 NOVEMBER 2017 – Phillips is pleased to announce the appointment of Ken Yeh as Senior Vice President and Senior International Specialist, 20th Century & Contemporary Art. He is based in New York.

Mr. Yeh joins Phillips from Acquavella Galleries in New York, where as a Director for four years he led the gallery’s business and client development in Asia. Before joining Acquavella, Mr. Yeh was Chairman of Christie’s Asia, where he provided senior cross-category support in developing relationships with clients and collectors.

As a Senior International Specialist, Mr. Yeh will be responsible for winning business and selling Phillips’ 20th Century & Contemporary Art sales on a global basis, with an emphasis on strengthening Phillips’ active client base in Asia. He will promote Phillips internationally to support and lead cross-departmental business development and brand initiatives, developing a network of top collectors and clients across all of Phillips’ selling categories.

“We are extremely pleased that Ken is joining our team,” said Edward Dolman, Chief Executive Officer of Phillips. “A long-time specialist in 20th century art, he is among the most respected and talented experts in the art world and will be a transformative addition to our team. With his significant experience and passion for engaging with collectors and colleagues – and his intimate knowledge of the global art scene – Ken will help us develop our expanding Asian client base.”

In November, Phillips is set to hold its next series of Hong Kong auctions of 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design, Watches and Jewellery, representing the latest stage of the company’s strategic growth in the region. Mr. Yeh will work closely with Jonathan Crockett, who was appointed Head of 20th Century & Contemporary Art for Asia in May 2016, along with the company’s growing team of Asian representatives, including Jane Yoon in Korea, Cindy Yen in Taiwan and Kyoko Hattori in Japan.

Before joining Christie’s in 1997, he created the Eastlake Gallery in 1988, a Manhattan-based gallery that specialized in French Impressionist and post-Impressionist art. As its director, he worked internationally with collectors, artists and museums advising on sales and acquisitions. He has also curated art exhibitions worldwide. Mr. Yeh holds an MBA in Finance from Columbia University's Graduate School of Business and a B.A. in French Literature from Fu Jen Catholic University in Taipei, Taiwan. He was born in Taiwan and is fluent in French, English, Mandarin and Taiwanese.
