Kaeli Deane Promoted to Head of Department, Americas, for Latin American Art

NEW YORK – August 3, 2017 – Phillips is pleased to announce that Kaeli Deane has been promoted to Vice President and Head of Department, Americas, for Latin American Art. The promotion reflects the extraordinary growth of the Phillips Latin American Art Department and its increasing importance to the company’s global growth strategy.

Prior to being named Head of Department, Ms. Deane was a Specialist and Head of Sale in Phillips Latin American Art Department, which has grown exponentially in recent years. During her tenure, Phillips has made a concerted effort to promote living artists and female artists on an international scale, leading to record-breaking sales for artists such as Carmen Herrera, Doris Salcedo and Olga de Amaral. In her new role, she will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Phillips’ Latin American Art auctions and business development efforts by cultivating networks among collectors, dealers, curators and others in the art world.

“I have worked with Kaeli for several years and have personally experienced her passion for Latin American Art and her extraordinary commitment to building our world-class department,” said Edward Dolman, Chief Executive Officer of Phillips. “As Head of the Department, Kaeli will work closely with our 20th Century & Contemporary Art department, as well as with Vivian Pfeiffer, Head of Business Development and Deputy Chairman, Americas, Cândida Sodré, Regional Director in Brazil, and Cecilia Laffan, Regional Director for Mexico, as she continues to grow the department. She will also spend more time with international collectors to build on Phillips’ strategy of engaging with clients across the globe so we can continue to grow and expand our market share in this important segment.”

Before joining Phillips, Ms. Deane began her career at Mary-Anne Martin Fine Art, where she held the position of Sales Director, designing exhibitions, researching artworks and working closely with Latin American art collectors. Originally from Connecticut, she studied Latin American art at Tufts University under Adriana Zavala, graduating summa cum laude with degrees in Art History and Spanish.
