NEW YORK – 21 NOVEMBER 2022 – PHILLIPS X and Particle are proud to present Streams of Consciousness, a selling exhibition in Miami from 29 November – 4 December. Among the artists offered in the exhibition are Amoako Boafo, Sassan Behnam-Bakhtiar, Danielle Orchard, Ellie Pratt, and Maria Sainz Rueda. Throughout the exhibition, themes of two worlds merging between personal consciousness and more intimate intuitive unconscious plays out in a space or place that is in between — an inner world conjured by fragments of disparate realities and fantasies through the commingling of abstraction and figuration. The artists featured confront the viewer with different investigations of a place, through their own psychological depictions of landscapes and figures, cultural attitudes and self-reflection. Streams of Consciousness will be on view alongside Art Basel Miami Beach at The Sagamore located at 1671 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, Florida.

Miety Heiden, Phillips’ Head of Private Sales, said, “We are delighted to be able to partner with Particle in bringing this vibrant exhibition to a new audience in Miami. The artists we have chosen to spotlight are changing the landscape of 21st century art. Despite the dissimilarities within each of their respective practices, there is a common desire they share in the need to communicate via symbols, gestures, color, and information to negotiate sensibilities of belonging in the world we live in.”

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Phillips this year at Miami Art Week to present an exhibition that encapsulates a negotiated space between reality and fantasy – something we can all relate to and one that’s fittingly synonymous with the web3 world,” said Charlotte Eytan, Director of Particle Foundation. “Our partnership with Phillips demonstrates Particle’s commitment to presenting these works to those outside of the traditional art world and educating Particle holders and the art community on the intersection of fine art and digital art with this IRL exhibition.”

Identities, feelings, intuition, and emotion are all expressed in the act of painting. Rich and bold in color, with a confluence of reality and fantasy, the works in Streams of Consciousness are filled by dreamlike distortions with a sense of the uncanny and suggestive of a world that is simultaneously desirable, unattainable, and unsettling. The fictitious domain posed in these paintings call for possibilities of transformative experience which demonstrate the immeasurable ways that paint can be manipulated to develop suggestive, transcendent, and sensory compositions.
