Anne Schneider-Wilson, Senior Specialist, Editions and Head of Sale, said: “Far exceeding its pre-sale high estimate, Edition Schellmann: Fifty Are Better Than One marked a seminal moment in the global editions market. We pushed the boundaries in terms of material and concept, thereby expanding the Editions category beyond prints and multiples. Celebrating Jörg Schellmann’s legacy as the definitive European Contemporary editions publisher, we were proud to be able to have helped him to honour the artists he has championed for so many years, and to raise such a substantial amount for the Ars Publicata project*. The sale was led by a world auction record for Keith Haring’s Dog, whose work is the recent focus of an exhibition at Tate Liverpool. We look forward to our Evening & Day Sales of Editions here in London in September.”
