    Phillips to Host Charity Auction in Los Angeles to Support Rhino Conservation Initiatives

    NEW YORK

    Phillips is pleased to announce a charity auction in Los Angeles to benefit Elephant Action League’s trailblazing efforts to save the rhinos. A selection of works by world-renowned photographer Thomas D. Mangelsen will be offered, with 100% of the proceeds to fund groundbreaking conservation initiatives. The auction will take place on Thursday, 1 June, at The Montage in Beverly Hills and will include special guest speakers Andrea Crosta (featured in the Netflix's documentary The Ivory Game), Jamie Joseph (Founder of Saving the Wild, a groundbreaking NGO working to eradicate wildlife poaching), and photographer Thomas D. Mangelsen, as well as famed Hollywood manager Joanne Horowitz, who is serving on the event’s host committee. Fifteen lots, including twelve unreleased images from Mangelsen’s Africa 2017 series with a limited edition print run of 5, will be on offer for photograph connoisseurs and wildlife supporters alike.

    Phillips’ Evening Sale of 20th Century and Contemporary Art Realizes $110.3 Million

    NEW YORK

    Phillips’ Evening Sale of 20th Century & Contemporary Art in New York realized $110,286,000, selling 100% by lot and 100% by value and bringing the combined total for the week to $128,886,500. The sale saw activity from all corners of the globe, with bidders from 25 countries participating. Three new world auction records were set during the Evening Sale, including those for works by Peter Doig and Nicole Eisenman, as well as a sculpture by Roy Lichtenstein. Peter Doig’s Rosedale also set a new record for a work by a living British artist.

    Phillips in Association with Bacs & Russo, the world’s leading watch auction house, is proud to announce a historical and record-breaking sale, which realised a total of CHF 32.6 million, the highest result this auction season and in the last decade. After months of anticipation, the sale’s top lot, the Rolex “Bao Dai” reference 6062, established a new world record for any Rolex ever sold at auction, achieving CHF 5,066,000. With five watches selling for above CHF 1 million, the Geneva Watch Auction: FIVE saw nearly 500 online bidders competing with over 400 bidders in the room and hundreds of phone bidders.
