Four black and white publicity photographs of the Beatles

1961-1963
Two by Brian Matthews, one taken at the Palais De Dance, Aldershot, 9 December, 1961, one taken at the Tower Ballroom, Liverpool, November 1961; one by Peter Kaye, Liverpool, 1962; and another by an unknown photographer, 1963, with corresponding negative.
Various dimensions from 16.5 x 22.2 cm. (6 1/2 x 8 3/4 in) to 20.6 x 25.4 cm. (8 1/8 x 10 in) or the reverse.

The Brian Matthews photograph in this lot taken at a 1961 concert in Aldershot portrays a performance now infamous in Beatles lore as apparently only 18 people attended. The concert was the band’s first appearance in the South of England before Beatlemania took its hold. Please note hat the negative included in this lot is offered for sale without copyright or other reproduction rights.
