 A reluctant artist, McCartney is quoted as saying that he thought ‘only people that had been to art school were allowed to paint’ but he took up painting in 1983 after witnessing Willem De Kooning paint in Long Island. Since then, he has exhibited his work at numerous shows worldwide.
