The form of this work was adapted by the artist from a Hindu ritual offering involving powdered rice, applied in intricate, spontaneous designs by hand, to the freshly cleaned clay floor and stove of traditional homes.  Birds eat the rice meal throughout the day, gradually erasing the image by nightfall.
