In the early to mid 1990s, Luis Gonzalez Palma created two sets of prints for exhibitions to travel through Europe and the Americas. After the prints had been exhibited in various venues over several years, he retired the pieces and created a new traveling set of exhibition prints. Palma retained the Americas set for his private collection and the European set, of which this print of El Angel was included, was sold with the designation 'Museum Shows AP2".
