Originally four exhibition sets of In Our Time were produced, touring throughout fifteen countries world-wide and becoming one of the most popular and successful exhibitions of recent times. Three of these exhibition sets are now owned by the following institutions – The Pompidou Centre, Paris; Waikato Museum, New Zealand and George Eastman House, Rochester, New York. The prints in lots 79-87 are from the fourth and final exhibition set, the only set to have been offered for sale on the public market as individual works. no more sets will be made. The book that accompanied the origination of the exhibition sets, In Our Time: The World as Seen by Magnum Photographers is also now out of print.
