  • Catalogue Essay

The genius of Hein’s cerebral and minimalist maze is that it makes us believe in his invisible configurations in an entertaining accessible way. While numerous artists have produced highly conceptual projects, few have developed their ideas to produce such an engaging form of interactivity. Hein has created a dialogue between his work and its visitors, which accentuates – rather than diminishes – his reflections on architecture. Hein’s work goes one step further…they only visibly become artworks at the moment they become engaged by us, the visitors. A. Sansom, Jeppe Hein, ‘Virtual Labyrinth’ in Eyemazing, September, 2005, p. 61
