The DB28 was presented to the public in 2011 and was awarded the highest distinction award “Aiguille d’Or” at the GPHG 2011 via its very first iteration in titanium. Achieving such a feat, the DB28 is perhaps one of the perfect examples of the firm’s approach to watchmaking. The DB28 Yellow Tones is the latest iteration of the award-winning model, with a slight twist. Famous for its heated blue titanium featured in many of De Bethune wristwatches for over 15 years since its initial founding, the Yellow Tones features its traditionally blue parts of the watch in a newly developed yellow polished grade 5 titanium alloy. To achieve such vibrant colouration on the titanium alloy, thermal oxidation on the surface must be achieved. Using essentially the same process to achieve the blue tone, the yellow surface is achieved by heating the alloy at a lower temperature. The oxidation process of titanium goes through various stages displaying different colours at each stage, with the first being yellow.

Comprising a silicon balance wheel escapement made of blued titanium proudly displayed at 6 O’clock with its signature 3D moon phases via a small ball bearing in multicoloured titanium, followed by its fancy floating lugs designed to maximize comfort across varying wrist sizes, the DB28 is certainly appealing and regarded as the household reference of the firm.

The present example in yellow polished grade 5 titanium from 2019 is presented in excellent overall condition and is accompanied by the full set of accessories.
