  • Shawcross’s bold structural montages are informed by complex ideas of science, mathematics, philosophy and history. The artist describes his sculptures as “childlike stacks of blocks” and that “all the works have a systemic, modular element to them. They have an interlocking system that allows them to escalate or diminish in scale.” i
