The ruyi motif takes reference from the shape of the auspicious cloud in Chinese culture which symbolizes good omen, as well as that of Lingzhi mushroom that represents longevity. Jadeite ruyi was also considered a gift of superiority, often presented to the emperor at his coronation, wedding and on birthdays. This current pair of earrings combines the ruyi motif into western colourful palette, bringing traditional blessings to the wearer.
