"I try to find a gentle balance when rendering my work between a subdued minimal execution to an overkill of maximum complexity." - LAURA BROTHERS

Laura Brothers’ Quiet Storm IV is the result of a series of vignettes she creates on MS paint that are reiterated, with slight variation, across multiple drawings. The composition includes literal and abstract details, contributing to a visual alliteration of shapes, patterns, and symbols. As a series and as individual computer drawings, Brothers’ work often depicts haunting and intricate scenes with dithered, high-contrast mosaics. (Text by Paddles ON! curator Lindsay Howard)
