    Mozambique Ruby: A Rising Star
In the spring of 2009, with the discovery of exceptionally fine quality ruby deposits in the Montepuez mine in northern Mozambique, the country joined an elite club of ruby producers.

Hailed as one of the most significant recent discoveries of ruby deposits, this mine continues to produce the captivating pure red shades that have become synonymous with this area and which are so sought-after by collectors.

Lot 588 is a classic Montepuez ruby, weighing an impressive 8.08 carats and crucially, it is free from any form of heating, which is itself a rarity in the market.
