The ‘Prived Oca’ chandelier is an example of Fernando and Humberto Campana’s unexpected combinations of the every-day and the high-end.  The ‘Prived Oca’ was designed for Swarovski’s ‘Crystal Palace Project’ at the Salone de Mobile in Milan, a project which sought to challenge the traditional notion of chandeliers by soliciting designs from cutting edge contemporary designers.  The intent was to sustain the dramatic impact of a chandelier while keeping its placement relevant within a contemporary interior.  To achieve this, the Campana brothers combined natural and unruly raffia with luxurious Swarovski crystals, resulting in a wild and undomesticated-meets-domesticated mixture of textures and visual effects.  The splendor of the tradition of the chandelier is retained, but with a definitely revitalized perspective.
