    Henning Watterston (1916-2009), who designed the original fabric accompanying this lot, taught weaving to his fellow apprentices at Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin before moving to New York in the late 1940s. Upon arrival, Watterston contacted Edward Wormley, who helped him obtain business as an independent designer with such firms as Dunbar, Knoll, and Schumacher.Phillips de Pury & Company would like to thank Clarissa Notley for her assistance cataloguing the present lot.
