When singer, songwriter, and producer Lolo Zouaï released her debut album, High Highs to Low Lows, last year, she immediately became a name to watch. Her music, which is infused with her personal story in all its complexities, pulls elements of R&B and hip-hop—and has already sold out shows in over a dozen countries and clocked more than 100 million streams. In anticipation of her exclusive performance at Phillips Southampton, Zouaï shared her favorite selections from our September 30 New Now sale

Martin Eder

Anyone who can paint a kitten and manage to make it look as fluffy as it does in real life is someone I’ll support. I’d hang this up in my bedroom but I don’t want to make my cats jealous.

Martin Eder, Gespenster, 2007. Estimate $10,000 - 15,000. New Now New York Auction.

Claire Fontaine

I’d like to meet the person who would buy a Parisian trash can for 10k. At the same time, it makes me think of all the unnecessary plastic that wastes away in our oceans.

Claire Fontaine, Les refusés, V. I, 2007. Estimate $7,000 - 10,000. New Now New York Auction.

Barnaby Furnas

Cigarettes, music, repeat! The classic tormented musician. I can definitely relate.

Barnaby Furnas, Street Musician (Atlantic City), 2011. Estimate $12,000 - 18,000. New Now New York Auction

Mauro Perucchetti

I’m not sure if this was the artist’s point, but this piece makes me giggle. Whats the story with the jelly family? I need to know. Haribo chic.

Mauro Perucchetti, Jelly Baby Family 0.9, 2011-2018. Estimate $30,000 - 40,000. New Now New York Auction

Mark Ryden

I’m a barbie girl in a barbie world. This piece reminds me of The Truman Show, which is one of my favorite movies. It’s beautiful, it uses colors that I love, but it’s also really sad.

Mark Ryden, Big Doll, 1997. Estimate $20,000 - 30,000. New Now New York Auction.

Loló Soldevilla

From one Lolo to another.

Loló Soldevilla, Sin título, 1995. Estimate $30,000 - 40,000. New Now New York Auction

Sadie Benning

I just started painting for fun during quarantine and the one thing i realized is that color is everything! This is one of my favorite color combos. It puts me in a good mood.

Sadie Benning, Untitled telephone drawing, 2016. Estimate $15,000 - 20,000. New Now New York Auction
