Boghossian Sugarloaf Moonstone, Emerald and Diamond Bangle.

In this conversation, Vivienne Becker meets Albert Boghossian, 5th generation head of the Geneva-based, family-owned and run High Jewelry house known for its creative ingenuity, innovative craftsmanship and exceptional colored stones.

Of Armenian origin, Boghossian traces its story back to 1868, when Ovannes Boghossian, founder of the company, was making jewelry for the community in Mardin, the city known as Small Jerusalem, a strategic stop along the Silk Road. Uprooted during the first World War, the family left their homeland, and grandson Ohannes found work in a jeweler’s workshop in Aleppo, Syria where he opened a boutique in 1919. Eventually the family moved to Beirut where Albert was born. Since 2007, Albert has been joined by the 6th generation, his nephews Ralph and Roberto, and along with their talented creative director Hong Kong-based Edmond Chin, together they have lifted Boghossian onto the world jewelry stage.
