Taking over our Paris galleries, tour Ugo Rondinone: Clockwork for Oracles through this virtual reality walkthrough.
The 52 windows on display correspond to the number of weeks in the year. Under a cheerful atmosphere—emphasized by the superposition of shiny colors—lies a melancholic undertone, the work addressing the inexorable passing of time. Each window acts simultaneously as a mirror to the viewer and a magnifying glass of his or her society. Time's passing and personal reflection engage with the broader theme of mortality, both individually and as a current geopolitical status, insisting on the idea of finitude.
A dizzying explosion of colors, Clockwork for Oracles is on view at 46 Rue du Bac in Paris through Friday 21 December.
