The legendary Omega Speedmaster, whose trip to the moon in 1969 forever changed the chronograph's destiny, is the subject of an original video series presented this week by Monochrome. The multi-part series introduces several men who know the watch intimately, starting with James Ragan, the man responsible for much of the Moonwatch's design.
In the latest episode, Monochrome speaks to our very own Aurel Bacs, who shares his personal Speedmaster, a reference 145.022-69ST with an unusual pulsation bezel, picked up during the 1980s. Aurel also offers an auctioneer's opinion of the current vintage Speedmaster market, discusses the evolution of the Speedmaster over the past sixty years and reveals what he considers to be the grail Speedmaster model.
