Few things captivate collectors and enthusiasts more than the unique vision and craftsmanship of independent watchmakers. Phillips PERPETUAL, our London-based boutique dedicated to rare and exceptional timepieces, is set to celebrate this very spirit with an exclusive event that brings together some of the most fascinating names in independent watchmaking.
From 13 to 15 March 2025, in London, Phillips PERPETUAL will host an intimate gathering featuring five luminaries of independent watchmaking: Konstantin Chaykin, Raúl Pagès, Theo Auffret, Charles Frodsham, and David Candaux. Each of these artisans has carved a unique path within the industry, merging traditional savoir-faire with daring innovation, and this event promises to offer collectors an up-close look at their latest creations, philosophies, and technical triumphs.
Unlike large-scale watch fairs, this London event offers an exclusive setting where enthusiasts can engage directly with the watchmakers, gaining insight into the challenges and inspirations that drive their work. Konstantin Chaykin, renowned for his inventive mechanical storytelling — think the expressive faces of his Joker series — will bring his signature blend of whimsical creativity and rigorous engineering, highlighted by the record-setting ThinKing. Meanwhile, Raúl Pagès, a rising star in the world of haute horlogerie, continues to impress with his exquisitely finished movements and artistic restraint. He'll bring examples of his Soberly Onyx and RP1 Régulateur à détente.
Parisian watchmaker Theo Auffret, known for his beautifully executed handmade tourbillons, represents the next generation of independent talent, while Charles Frodsham, a name steeped in British horological history, continues to uphold a tradition of precision timekeeping. The latter might even make a special debut during the exhibition...
Rounding out the lineup is David Candaux, whose sculptural approach to watchmaking blends cutting-edge design with deep respect for mechanical purity. He'll bring his latest creations, including the DC6 Titanium. Phillips will also be bringing a curated assortment of watches from independent makers that will be a part of our upcoming auctions.
For collectors, this event represents a unique chance to not only view these exceptional watches in person but also to engage with the creators shaping the future of watchmaking. Whether you're drawn to Chaykin’s playfulness, Pagès’ meticulous craftsmanship, Auffret’s classical-meets-modern aesthetic, Frodsham’s historical gravitas, or Candaux’s avant-garde design, there’s no doubt this will be an event to remember.
Join us from 13 to 15 March 2025, at Phillips London, 30 Berkeley Square, W1J 6EX, for Independent Spirit on the first floor gallery. Open daily from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM, this event welcomes everyone — don't miss out!
