To Repel Ghosts: Jean-Michel Basquiat's 'Victor 25448'

In an exclusive reading, poet Kevin Young, director of the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture and poetry editor of the New Yorker, shares one of his poems from To Repel Ghosts, his ambitious homage to Jean-Michel Basquiat. The present poem is about the artist’s work ‘Victor 25448’, which will be offered in our 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale in New York on 2 July 2020.
