Henri Matisse's Jeune fille dormant à la blouse roumaine, 1939
Dr. Charles Stuckey, art historian and former Curator of Modern Painting, National Gallery of Art, Washington D.C. discusses Henri Matisse’s Jeune fille dormant à la blouse roumaine from 1939. The subject appears to resemble Matisse’s studio assistant, secretary and muse Lydia Delektorskaya, one of the few people in the artist’s immediate universe when he executed the drawing.
