Phillips Announces Results from Our October Editions Sale in New York

PHILLIPS OCTOBER EDITIONS AUCTION TOTALS $4.7 MILLION/ £3.1 MILLION / €4.25 MILLION, SELLING 88% BY VALUE AND 85% BY LOT

NEW YORK – 27 October 2015 – Phillips Evening & Day Editions Auctions totaled $4.7 million, £3.1 million, €4.25 million, selling 88% by value and 85% by lot. More than 10% of the 300 lots achieved record prices during the sale, with all-time highs reached by four of the top 10 lots, including works by Andy Warhol, Donald Judd and Frank Stella.

Kelly Troester and Cary Leibowitz, Worldwide Co-Directors of Editions, said, “We are once again delighted with the results from our October Editions Including Works on Paper auctions. We continue to post strong results for our clients as we present a variety of spectacular works for sale. Our sales total of $19.9 million for 2015 was our strongest year on record, and we are grateful to our international team of experts in New York and London who work closely to deliver an outstanding auction experience at our showrooms, as well as via our new online auction platform Phillips Live.”

In addition to lively bidding in the auction room and via telephone, the Phillips digital saleroom was especially active during the sale with 442 online registered users – a 215% increase in online registrants from last season’s sale.
