PHILLIPS APPOINTS YUKA YAMAJI AS SENIOR SPECIALIST IN THE LONDON PHOTOGRAPHS DEPARTMENT

LONDON, UK - 28 February 2014 - Phillips is pleased to announce the appointment of Yuka Yamaji as Senior Specialist in the London Photographs department. Yamaji has been actively involved in the photography market for over a decade. She launched the Christie’s Los Angeles Photographs department in 2000 and then became head of its London Photographs department in 2004 where she set multiple world auction records and oversaw the expansion of the business. In addition to her extensive experience, Yuka brings a strong vision for global market development to the role.

Yuka Yamaji’s expertise ranges from 19th century to present day photography with special interest in European avant-garde and Japanese photographs. Yamaji holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and French Language & Literature from Smith College and a Master of Arts in Art History from Tufts University.
