New York - Phillips de Pury & Company is pleased to announce highlights from the upcoming New York Jewels auction on 19th April 2012. The sale presents a selection of exquisite diamonds, illustrious colored gemstones as well as many sought-after signed jewels.
Leading the collection is the extraordinary Internally Flawless Fancy Intense Yellow Diamond, weighing 23.79 carats, estimate available upon request. It’s impressive size and exceptional clarity paired with the vibrant yellow color make it an extremely rare gem.

Signed jewels from Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier, Tiffany and Buccellati highlight the sale. Most notable is an impressive pair of Buccellati Diamond and Emerald Ear Pendants estimated at $50,000-70,000 and an exceptional Buccellati Diamond Necklace estimated at $150,000-180,000.
A second fancy-colored diamond presented at the sale is a Fancy Light Bluish Green Diamond, weighing 4.21 carats estimated at $200,000-250,000. Colored diamonds of this kind are quite unique as they are in limited supply, considered among the rarest of all diamonds, accounting for less than one percent of diamonds mined.
In the colorless diamond category there is a signed, highly flexible, Impressive Diamond Bracelet by Oscar Heyman, exhibiting masterful craftsmanship in its superb flexibility and uniformity of cut for the perfectly matched series of diamonds weighing approximately fifty-four carats in total estimated at $180,000-250,000. Also included in this category is a pair of cluster diamond earclips, of exquisite matching colorless diamonds, weighing 19.79 carats in total estimated at $95,000-140,000. Each diamond is GIA certified with the highest quality.
Among the special gemstones, featured an exceptional Unheated Ceylon sapphire ring of magnificent color and transparency weighing approximately 22.56 carats, estimated at $80,000-100,000. Additionally, a stunning bracelet is the Multi-color Sapphire and Diamond Bracelet, with sapphires weighing approximately 126.57 carats in total, offered at $40,000-60,000.
A fine array of pearls are also featured in the sale, notably a rare golden South Sea cultured pearl necklace, measuring from approximately 16.05 mm to 14.00 mm, with the finest blemish-free pearls of the most vibrant golden colour saturation estimated at $40,000-50,000.
This season a number of signed jewels will also be offered, including a number of inspiring designs from the visionary René Boivin including a rare design featuring a large diamond weighing approximately 11.20 carats and an Enamel Serpent Necklace by Paul Flato estimated at $20,000-30,000, which will captivate jewelry collectors.
A selection of antique jewelry completes the sale with an impressive antique Colombian Emerald and Diamond Necklace estimated at $140,000-180,000 and a striking antique Diamond Riviére Necklace estimated at $100,000-$120,000.
