Contemporary Art Evening auction totalled $86,897,500 selling 92% by value and 80% by lot, building on the solid results of 2011.
In a buzzing sales room which saw active bidding from the floor and the phone banks, Phillips continued its strong run of results following on the successes of all recent sales with three lots selling for over $10 million and the Jean-Michel Basquiat world record at auction for Untitled, at $16,322,500.
