London – Phillips de Pury & Company’s London Design sale totaled £2,062,025 / $3,367,287 (
including premium), selling 75% by value and 68% by lot.
World auction records were established for Italian mid-century designers Franco Albini, Anna Castelli Ferrieri, and Pietro Chiesa as well as contemporary designers Sebastian Brajkovic and Charles Trevelyan.
French mid-century continues to shine as evidenced by the sale of Charlotte Perriand’s
Unique and
monumental Bahut, from the Dr. Georges Ferran Estate, selling at £145,250/ $237,193 the top sale of the night. Ron Arad’s
Two Legs and a Table from 1990 was the second highest price at £79,250 /$129,415.
