RESULTS: London – Phillips February Contemporary Art Auctions realised a combined total of £21,144,200 / $32,350,600 / €28,544,600 and established six new artists’ records. The Evening Auction on 12 February totalled £17,689,250 / $26,887,600 / €23,880,400 selling 93% by lot and 96% by value*. The Contemporary Art Day Sale totalled £3,454,900 / $5,286,000 / €4,664,200 selling 84% by lot 88% by value.

London – Phillips spring auctions of Contemporary Art will take place on 12 and 13 February 2015 in London and will offer an impressive selection of desirable, market-fresh works, the majority of which represent many of the most exciting artists of the past 15 years. The auctions have a combined pre-sale estimate of £16.4 million to £24.1 million ($22.1 million to $32.6 million / €24.5 million to €36.2 million).

London – Phillips will offer Ai Weiwei’s Circle of Animals / Zodiac Heads, 2010, at the Contemporary Art Evening Sale on Thursday, 12 February. The twelve gold-plated sculptures portraying the signs of the ancient Chinese zodiac are offered with a pre-sale estimate of £2,000,000 - £3,000,000.

New York – This spring Phillips will present the first-ever New York auction of Italian art at a major auction house. Driven by internationally prominent curator Francesco Bonami, the auction will reflect the depth of Italian art over the last 100 years and will present around 50 works by artists who are currently less familiar to an international audience of collectors.
