NEW YORK – Phillips is pleased to announce the sale of a Private American Collection featuring significant contemporary works of art by many of the most compelling American artists of the twentieth century, including Brice Marden, Ed Ruscha, Robert Ryman, John Chamberlain, and James Lee Byars, as well as Italians Giuseppe Penone and Alighiero Boetti. The Contemporary Art and Design evening Auction totaled $5,618,500 / £3,708,200 / €5,056,600 selling 86% by lot and 87% by value. The Under the Influence Sale totaled $3,081,800 / £2,034,000 / €2,773,600 selling 70% by lot and 81% by value.

LONDON – Phillips is pleased to present Sigmar Polke: A Selling Exhibition from an Important American Collection 1967 – 2000, on view in London from 27 February to 13 March and in Berlin from 20 April to 14 May. The travelling exhibition of 39 prints and one multiple, Apparatus Whereby One Potato Can Orbit Another will be on view at 30 Berkeley Square in London before travelling to the Phillips exhibition space on Kurfürstendamm in Berlin.

The Evening Auction on 12 February totalled £17,689,250 / $26,887,600 / €23,880,400 selling 93% by lot and 96% by value*. The Contemporary Art Day Sale totalled £3,454,900 / $5,286,000 / €4,664,200 selling 84% by lot 88% by value.

LONDON – Phillips spring auctions of Contemporary Art will take place on 12 and 13 February 2015 in London and will offer an impressive selection of desirable, market-fresh works, the majority of which represent many of the most exciting artists of the past 15 years. The auctions have a combined pre-sale estimate of £16.4 million to £24.1 million ($22.1 million to $32.6 million / €24.5 million to €36.2 million).
