RESULTS: NEW YORK - Phillips’ Contemporary Art Evening Sale realised $97,170,000 (£62,188,800 / €85,509,600), selling 80% by lot and 85% by value. The top price was paid for Francis Bacon’s Seated Woman, 1961, which sold to an anonymous telephone bidder for $28,165,000 (£18,025,600 / €24,785,200).

GENEVA - The inaugural watch auctions held by Phillips, in Association with Bacs & Russo, on 9 and 10 May 2015 realised a combined total of SFr 29,649,363 / $31,834,734 / €28,411,944, selling 97% by lot. The auctions sold four watches for over $1 million and established multiple records including for any stainless steel wristwatch, for any Rolex sold at auction, and for any Rolex Day-Date.

NEW YORK – This spring Phillips will present the first-ever auction dedicated to modern Italian art to take place at a major auction house in New York. Driven by internationally prominent curator Francesco Bonami, the auction titled, The Great Wonderful: 100 Years of Italian Art, will reflect the depth of Italian art over the last 100 years and will present 64 works by both internationally renowned artists, and by those who are currently less familiar to an international audience of collectors.

NEW YORK – Phillips auctions of Contemporary Art in New York in May will be led by an important large-scale portrait by Francis Bacon (1909-1992) which is expected to realise $25 million to $35 million. The evening auction on 14 May will also offer a selection of works from a Private American Collection including examples by many of the most compelling American artists of the twentieth century, including Brice Marden, Ed Ruscha, Robert Ryman, John Chamberlain and James Lee Byars.
